Bonded Brings Lagree to Naples: Inside the City’s First Lagree Studio

A new fitness concept is arriving in Naples, and it’s one many locals have been waiting for.

Bonded, the city’s first Lagree studio, is preparing to open its doors and introduce the high-intensity, low-impact workout method that has developed a cult following in major cities across the country.

The studio was founded by Zachary Russell and April Woodward, who recently relocated to Naples from Canada. For Russell, the move carried a sense of familiarity — his family has been visiting Naples for more than 40 years. After years of returning to the area, the couple ultimately decided to make it their home and the place to launch their first studio.

Thoughtfully designed and community-focused, Zach and April created Bonded to offer more than just a workout. From carefully curated interiors to a calm, welcoming studio environment — and even a coffee and matcha bar inside the space — every element was designed to encourage people to linger, connect, and make the studio part of their daily rhythm.

We spoke with Zach and April about the Lagree method, what first-time clients can expect, and the philosophy behind the studio.

For readers unfamiliar with the method, how would you describe Lagree, and what sets it apart from Pilates or traditional strength training?

Lagree is a high intensity, low impact method built around slow, precise movement and continuous muscle engagement. It blends the control and alignment of Pilates with the strength building of resistance training and the focus of a mindful practice, all within a single, flowing experience.

What makes Lagree different is how intentional it feels. There is no rush. Every movement is designed to be felt rather than simply completed. The result is a workout that strengthens and tones the body while also creating a sense of presence and calm. People often describe it as both physically transformative and mentally centering, which is part of what makes it so addictive.

What can someone expect during their first class at Bonded?

The first thing people usually notice is the feeling of being welcomed rather than processed.

Guests arrive into a space that feels calm, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed. They are guided through the experience with care, from getting settled on the machine to understanding how the class will flow. Our instructors lead with warmth and clarity, offering individual attention while creating a shared energy in the room.

The pace is slow and deliberate. Movements are controlled and deeply engaging, which allows people at any level to feel challenged in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. Many leave their first class surprised by how strong they feel and how relaxed they are at the same time.

How would you describe the vibe and design of the studio?

We designed the space ourselves, working closely with the designers at Arhaus to ensure every detail felt intentional and reflective of the experience we wanted to create.

Much of the furniture was shipped in from France, including pieces from the late 19th century that bring a sense of history and softness to the space. In the lobby, we sourced and shipped quartzite from Brazil to create a natural, sculptural foundation for GLDN Hour, which will be opening their second location inside Bonded. It is an incredible coffee and matcha bar owned by two inspiring Naples women, and it allows the studio experience to extend beyond the class itself.

Our focus has been on creating a place people genuinely want to be: a space that feels personal, beautiful, and elevated. We want it to feel at home among some of the most beautiful and thoughtfully designed residences in the country, a place that reflects the people who walk through our doors and invites them to stay, connect, and return.

What core values or guiding principles define the Bonded brand?

Bonded is built around the idea of care, not only for our members, but for the people who lead the experience every day. We believe that the way we support, develop, and empower our instructors shapes everything our community becomes. Our goal is to create an environment where our team feels valued, trusted, and given space to grow, both professionally and personally. When people feel genuinely cared for, they show up with greater presence, confidence, and purpose.

By investing deeply in our instructors as leaders, not just as teachers, we aim to create a ripple effect. Strong, grounded leaders become better stewards of the community they serve. They set the tone for how members treat one another, how progress is encouraged, and how the culture of Bonded evolves over time.

Our belief is simple. If we build the best instructors and leaders, they will help us build the most meaningful and supportive community.

Who is Lagree an ideal fit for?

One of the most beautiful things about Lagree is how universal it is.

We have professional athletes, including NFL players, who rely on the method for strength, control, and longevity. We also have women in their seventies who come for the joint friendly movement, the sense of balance, and the confidence it brings. They often share the same room, moving at different levels of intensity, but through the same structure and flow.

Lagree is designed to meet people exactly where they are. Every exercise can be adjusted, layered, or intensified, which means beginners, seasoned athletes, and everyone in between can have a meaningful and challenging experience in the same class. The common thread is not age, background, or fitness level. It is a desire to care for the body in a way that feels intelligent, sustainable, and deeply personal.

Looking Ahead

Bonded recently began a soft launch for founding members and waitlist guests before expanding into its full class schedule. The studio will offer tiered memberships along with booking windows that allow founding members to reserve classes further in advance.
