The Mom Walk Co. Brings Local Mothers Together, One Step at a Time
On any given morning in Naples, you might spot a small circle of mothers gathered at Baker Park, coffee cups in hand, chatting as little ones explore the grass nearby. It looks simple enough, a morning stroll and a few friendly faces, but for many local moms, it is something so much more.
The Mom Walk Co., a national collective with chapters all around the U.S., has found a happy home here in Naples.
Designed to help mothers connect amid busy, often isolating days, the group is all about slowing down, getting outside, and finding friendship.
A Simple Beginning
The Naples chapter was started in 2024 by Sam Stafford, a mom of two who moved to the area and wanted to create a space for other moms to meet. After attending similar walks in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, she decided to begin her own.
“When we moved to Naples, I didn’t know anyone,” Sam said. “I just put it out there to see who might show up. We’ve met some of our closest friends this way.”
What began as a small circle of new mothers has grown into a familiar gathering across the city. From North Collier Park to the Nature Conservancy, the walks bring together women of all ages and stages of motherhood.
Connection Without the Fuss
Part of the group’s charm is its simplicity. There are no sign-ups, fees, or expectations, just a warm invitation to join. Moms arrive with strollers or toddlers in tow, ready for a walk, a chat, and a change of scenery.
“Come as you are,” Sam said. “We’ll walk, play at the park, feed our kids if we need to. We all understand this season.”
The atmosphere is easygoing but intentional. Many of the women who attend are stay-at-home or remote-working mothers who spend much of their day at home. The walks offer a place to reconnect with others experiencing a similar season of life.
Rooted in Community
The Naples chapter often partners with local businesses to host its gatherings. Collaborations have included wellness mornings with Yoga Six, outdoor events at Empowerment Farms, and meet-ups at favorite coffee and juice spots around town.
These partnerships not only support local organizations, but also help moms discover new corners of their own community.
Although Naples is known for its beaches and quiet charm, Sam believes it’s also one of the best places to raise young children. Parks such as North Collier Park, Vineyards Park, and Baker Park are frequent favorites, offering trails, splash pads, and plenty of space to explore.
Looking Ahead
The group’s fall calendar includes several new collaborations, including events with The Nature Classroom and Reset Wellness, which will host a “Mom’s Morning Out,” complete with a beach walk and self-care activities. While the gatherings vary, the purpose remains the same: to create a welcoming place for mothers to breathe, laugh and feel seen.
"We’re here for whoever needs us, whether someone’s just stopping in for one walk or looking for new friendships," Sam said. "Sometimes you just need a reason to get out of the house and talk to another adult."
